How to use this calculator
What is the Fiverr fee calculator?
Fiverr's fee structure is simple on the surface but easy to misjudge when you are pricing your work. Sellers give up a flat 20% of every order — the so-called Fiverr commission — and keep the remaining 80%. Buyers, meanwhile, pay a service fee of 5.5% of the order total, plus a $3.50 small-order fee on any order under $200. This free fiverr fee calculator does the math in both directions so neither side gets a surprise at checkout or on payout day.
The seller formula, explained
The seller calculation is a one-liner: Fiverr fee = gig price x 20%, and you receive = gig price x 80%. A $50 gig means a $10 commission and $40 in your pocket. A $500 order means $100 goes to Fiverr and $400 goes to you. The fee is taken at the order level, so multi-gig orders and milestones each carry their own 20% cut. One detail many freelancers miss: tips are treated like order revenue, so the same 20% applies to any tip a client leaves you.
The buyer formula, explained
Buyers pay service fee = 5.5% of the order value, and on orders under $200 an additional $3.50 small-order fee is added. So a $100 order costs the buyer $100 + $5.50 + $3.50 = $109. A $250 order costs $250 + $13.75 = $263.75 (no small-order fee since it is above $200). Notice the two sides do not mirror each other: sellers lose 20% while buyers pay roughly 5.5–9%, and the gig price itself stays identical on both sides of the invoice.
How to price your gigs on Fiverr
The practical way to use this calculator is backwards pricing. Decide how much you actually want to earn from a gig — say $80 — then divide by 0.8 to get the price you need to list: $100. Always round up a little to absorb rounding and currency-conversion quirks on withdrawal. If you work across platforms, compare with the Upwork fee calculator and fold the result into your freelance hourly rate so every platform pays you the same effective rate.
Tips for keeping more of what you earn
You cannot negotiate the 20% seller commission down — it is fixed for every seller on Fiverr. What you can control is your price: rebuild your gig packages so the after-fee number covers your time, tools, taxes, and profit margin. Bundle smaller gigs into bigger orders where the work allows, keep turnaround times tight to earn volume-based level promotions, and quote custom offers slightly above your target so the 80% you keep lands exactly where you need it.
